Description of the closest water source before the project:

This community had an open well that was subject to contamination. It was used for drinking water as well as a place for washing clothes and bathing.

Description of the village, the people and how they make their living: The people of this community are very humble. The majority of the poor communities in Iquitos make their living by working with wood cut nfrom the jungle, driving moto-taxis, fishing and/or traveling into the city to find odd jobs.

Description of the well dedication: Peter Torres, the Operation Blessing representative, opened up the ceremony with a word of prayer. Afterward, he talked about hygiene and the importance of keeping the well and the buckets used to fetch water clean.

Evangelism: Peter talked about how the well was a gift from God given by people that cared about them even though these people had never met them. The well represents the love of God who sent His Son to die for people who did not even know God or love Him. If we receive Jesus freely as a FREE gift as  this well, we will have satisfaction for our spiritual thirst. Peter then closed with a prayer.
